Good to know
What the ad copy checker looks at
Pick where the ad will run, Google Search or Facebook & Instagram, then type the headline and the description or primary text. The checker scores two halves. Strength: does it say what's offered and to whom, lead with a benefit, include a specific detail, tell people what to do next, and fit the platform's length? Policy risk: does it avoid the patterns ad reviewers most often push back on?
Every line is a yes/no check and the score updates as you type, so you can soften a risky claim and watch the policy checks turn green.
Length limits per platform
Google Search ads are strict: each headline is at most 30 characters and each description at most 90. Meta is looser but still cuts you off: primary text is truncated with "See more" after roughly the first 125 characters, and Meta recommends keeping headlines to about 40 characters. Put the offer where it will actually be seen.
Ad policy red flags
Meta's advertising standards don't allow ads that assert or imply someone's personal attributes, such as health, weight, finances, age, race, religion or sexuality, so "Are you overweight?" or "Struggling with debt?" is a classic rejection. Both Google and Meta restrict unrealistic health and money promises ("lose 10 kg in a week", "guaranteed $5,000 a month") and misleading claims, and Google's editorial standards reject gimmicky capitalization, symbols and punctuation like "FREE!!!".
The checker flags these patterns so you can fix them before review. It is not an official policy review: the platforms decide, their rules change, and some categories (health, finance, housing, employment, politics) carry extra requirements this tool doesn't cover.
Benefit, detail, action
"Quality Solutions — Contact us" gives nobody a reason to click. "Same-Day Boiler Repair Leeds — Fixed £89 call-out. Book online now" names the service, the place, the price and the next step in two lines. A specific detail and a clear call to action are usually the quickest wins.
Frequently asked questions
What makes a good ad copy score?
A strong score (70+) says what's offered and to whom, leads with a benefit, includes a specific detail like a price or timeframe, ends with a clear call to action, fits the platform's length, and clears every policy check.
Will my ad pass Google or Meta review if it scores well?
Not guaranteed. The checker flags common copy-level risks, but review also looks at your landing page, your targeting, your account history and category-specific rules. Treat a pass here as fewer surprises, not an approval.
What are personal attributes in Meta ads?
Copy that asserts or implies the reader has a specific trait or condition: their health, weight, age, financial situation, race, religion, sexuality and similar. "Are you diabetic?" breaks it; "Recipes for a low-sugar diet" talks about the product instead of the person, which is the usual fix.
Can I check responsive search ads with many headlines?
Check them one headline and description at a time. Each Google headline has to work on its own anyway, because Google mixes and matches them.
What does "Fix it for me" do?
It asks AI to rewrite your headline and body to pass the checks they currently fail, within the platform's limits and without risky claims, then scores the rewrite. Details it doesn't know, like a price, are left as a [placeholder].
Do you store the ads I check?
No. Your text is scored and discarded. Free, no sign-up.
